About
Visit a land made famous by Coronado and Father Kino, by Geronimo and Cochise, by the Earps, Doc Holliday and the Clantons, by Johnny Ringo and Ed Schieffelin.
This is a land of endless skies and breathtaking vistas. Of sacred mountains and dramatic rock formations rising like islands from the desert. This is a spirited land, rich in history and natural wonders.
Apache Dawn covers more than 450 miles across Southern Arizona and is narrated by ‘JJ McCracken,’ part trapper/scout/miner/hunter/rancher and part philosopher as well. He has a sense of humor, but above all, he loves Arizona and Apache Country and is very respectful of those who lived here, tamed the land, and survived.
What to Expect
During each day, you’ll travel through some of the most beautiful and picturesque scenery in the Southwest and see the places where history was made and legends born- ghost towns, Apache strongholds, mountain passes, mining centers, and historical sites. There are working cattle ranches, horse ranches, and the most famous town in the Old West, Tombstone, Arizona.

Apache Dawn gives you a chance to experience the Old West as it really was and to see some of the most famous and infamous lands in the country. Walk where Geronimo once walked. Let your heels dance on the wooden sidewalks of Tombstone, just the way Wyatt Earp did, a hundred years ago.
Apache Dawn features specially-created narration and audio reenactments that will entertain and enlighten you as you travel. You’ll understand what happened to Geronimo and Cochise, to the Earps and Clantons, to the great mining barons- you’ll hear their stories and listen to their tales. You’ll be there, in more ways than one.
